Dr. Güncel Öztürk was born in Istanbul in 1979 into a family of artists. From an early age, he was surrounded by art, and the influence of his father, a sculptor, shaped his appreciation for aesthetics, form, and symmetry—qualities that would later define his career in plastic surgery.
In 2003, he graduated from the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University, earning his medical degree. In the same year, he successfully passed the Turkish Medical Specialty Examination (TUS) and began his residency in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.
During his specialist training, Dr. Öztürk completed international fellowships at two leading institutions in the United States: Yale University New Haven Hospital and the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. There, he received advanced training in facial, nasal, and breast surgery, gaining valuable international experience in both aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.
After completing his six-year residency program, he qualified as a specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. He subsequently served at Malatya Military Hospital during his military service and completed his mandatory public service at Sivas Numune Hospital.
In 2024, Dr. Öztürk was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor, reflecting his contributions to the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery and his ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and education.
