This was not just a hospital complex but the future of Turkey in the field of medicine.

The construction of Memorial Şişli Hospital, whose name became synonymous with trust and leadership, was completed in approximately three years. Equipped with the most advanced technology of its time, which an international medical institution should possess, Memorial Şişli Hospital welcomed its first patient in February 2000.

Just two years after its opening, Memorial Şişli Hospital received the JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation Certificate, becoming the first in Turkey and the 21st in the world to be awarded this certificate, which represents the global standard for quality healthcare services.

Areas of Expertise

Due to the high success rates after the procedures (up to 65%), the center is popular among most foreign patients. The following procedures are available:

classical IVF
ICSI – 95% success rate. Doctors perform this procedure mainly for male infertility, if the man’s sperm are low-motility. During ICSI, the reproductive specialist selects the most active sperm and injects it into the egg with a special thin needle.
IMSI – fertilization by micro-injection. The procedure is similar to ICSI, the only difference is that the doctor uses a more powerful microscope.

On March 15, 2026, I presented to your hospital's emergency department with severe abdominal pain. Following an examination, Specialist Dr. Doğuş Eskin stated that my condition was unclear; he couldn't make a definitive assessment, suggesting it could be early pregnancy, miscarriage, or ectopic pregnancy, and recommended repeating the Beta HCG test after 48 hours. Although hospitalization was suggested, the seriousness of my condition was not clearly and explicitly communicated to me. The doctor's chewing gum during the examination and his lack of proper communication created an impression of unprofessionalism; this approach both damaged my trust and prevented me from fully understanding the urgency of my situation. Later that evening, due to increasing severe pain, I consulted my own doctor. The evaluation revealed a clear ectopic pregnancy and internal bleeding. Due to this life-threatening condition, I underwent emergency surgery. During the operation, my left fallopian tube was removed. The fact that such a serious and life-threatening condition was not recognized during my initial visit, and that the necessary guidance was not provided, is extremely concerning. Furthermore, I experienced serious shortcomings in patient safety during my stay in the emergency room. While I was in bed, I pressed the nurse call button, but no one responded for a long time. I was then forced to get up on my own, open the door, and call out to the nurse outside. When the nurse came, the smell of cigarette smoke was clearly noticeable, and she apologized, saying, "We didn't hear you." However, if my situation had been more urgent at that moment, my call for help going unanswered could have had life-threatening consequences. This experience has seriously affected me both physically and psychologically. Therefore, I request: An investigation into the diagnostic process, patient communication, and professional approach of the physician who performed my initial examination; An assessment of the possibility of overlooking a life-threatening situation such as internal bleeding; A review of the effectiveness of patient call systems and staff responsiveness in your emergency room; Necessary regulations regarding the conduct and discipline of healthcare personnel during their work (e.g., patient contact after smoking); And that all necessary precautions be taken to prevent similar situations from happening to other patients. We are very satisfied with the hospital and doctors. However, the valet service provided on May 8, 2024, at 9:25 AM was so bad that my review, which was written without any insults or derogatory remarks, was not published. That's how bad it was. The parking lot on the lower floor of the hospital had become the area's parking lot; there was no parking available when you arrived at the hospital. (I haven't experienced the hospital's underground parking lot recently, so I don't know its current situation.) My complaint wasn't just about one issue; I experienced problems at least 15 times because of the same incompetent people. Fortunately, the valet company changed in the last few months, and competent people have joined. When we stopped at the Children's Emergency entrance, the valets would come out of the waiting booth and take the car. We would run after the old valets to hand the car over, and the answer we received was, "We don't have any space." I would say, "Let me leave it downstairs," but then the lower floors were completely full. Bringing a sick child to this hospital alone in your own car was a disaster at that time. I hope they don't repeat the same mistakes. I want to reiterate a suggestion from his previous comment here. The covered parking lot is also paid, but the hospital should have its own quota of space allocated to it, or it should be very expensive for those coming from outside just to use the parking lot.
