About the clinic

International certificate of quality and reliability
ISO Accreditation Certificate in Genetics and IVF Laboratory
The first LEED Platinum certification in the healthcare sector in the world

Memorial Health Group, founded in 1995, launched the project for its first hospital in 1996, aiming to establish a reference center not only in Turkey but also worldwide. Memorial Şişli Hospital began rising on the European side of Istanbul with the support of ECRI, the most renowned healthcare consultancy firm in the United States. This was not just a hospital complex but the future of Turkey in the field of medicine.

The construction of Memorial Şişli Hospital, whose name became synonymous with trust and leadership, was completed in approximately three years. Equipped with the most advanced technology of its time, which an international medical institution should possess, Memorial Şişli Hospital welcomed its first patient in February 2000.

Just two years after its opening, Memorial Şişli Hospital received the JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation Certificate, becoming the first in Turkey and the 21st in the world to be awarded this certificate, which represents the global standard for quality healthcare services.

Occupying a closed area of 53,000 m², Memorial Şişli Hospital has a 252-bed capacity. The hospital provides medical services with 13 operating rooms, 4 intensive care units (cardiovascular, general, coronary, and neonatal), and 3 laboratories. It also houses a Transplantation Center, IVF Center, Genetic Center, Stroke Center, Breast Health and Diseases Center, Oncology Center, and Vinci Robotic Surgery Center.

Why us?

Memorial Hospital Group was the first Turkish hospital to receive JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation, the gold standard in healthcare. With 11 high-tech and patient-oriented hospitals, 2 medical centers and 1 health center in 5 cities in Turkey, the group serves 75,000 international patients from over 167 countries every year.

A team of expert doctors with over 19 years of experience

Full support for international patients: translators, travel arrangements and visa assistance
3,600 cardiac surgeries and 12,000 angiographies per year (including TAVI, Mitra Clip, CTO Lead Extraction)
Member of the American Hospital Association (AHA) - the only one in Turkey
2.4 million patients and 85,000 surgeries per year

Areas of Expertise

Reproductive medicine and IVF

Due to the high success rates after the procedures (up to 65%), the center is popular among most foreign patients. The following procedures are available:

  • classical IVF
  • ICSI – 95% success rate. Doctors perform this procedure mainly for male infertility, if the man’s sperm are low-motility. During ICSI, the reproductive specialist selects the most active sperm and injects it into the egg with a special thin needle.
  • IMSI – fertilization by micro-injection. The procedure is similar to ICSI, the only difference is that the doctor uses a more powerful microscope.
  • cryopreservation of sperm, eggs and embryos

In addition, preimplantation genetic diagnostics is available for future parents at the hospital. Thanks to screening, parents can be sure that their child does not have hereditary diseases or developmental disorders. The procedure is carried out in each case, but it is especially relevant for people with genetic pathologies that can affect the bearing of a child. Diagnostics are also recommended for already born children with deviations.

Memorial Şişli offers comprehensive treatment of oncological diseases using innovative methods.

  • Radiotherapy – modern TrueBeam STx and ELEKTA Versa HD systems allow for precise irradiation of tumors, minimizing damage to healthy tissue.

I live on the Anatolian side of Istanbul and found Dr. Özdal Ersoy at this hospital due to a gastroenterology-pelvic floor problem, both through referrals and through social media posts about pelvic floor issues. Seeing such a rare approach from a doctor, something I haven't seen in a long time, and witnessing that this vision and approach hasn't disappeared, made me incredibly happy. His approach to patients, his respect for privacy, his ability to understand the patient's history and determine a course of treatment in the best way possible, his humane approach – thank you, doctor. May God not deprive us of doctors like you. The general cleanliness within the hospital and the guidance from the staff were very satisfactory. Thank you again, Dr. Özdal. 💐 Translated fromTurkish

The hospital is very clean and odorless. It's luxurious, like a 5-star hotel. I've been coming here for years, seeking it out. I used to go to their clinic in Etiler, but it closed. The appointment system is very easy. I currently go to my Orthopedics and Traumatology doctor, Operator Dr. Yalın Dirik. He's a calm, attentive, knowledgeable doctor who listens to his patients. The staff are generally decent. We deserve good service for this price. We were only a little uncomfortable at the radiology front desk in the MRI department when we first arrived. They should be more respectful in their manner of speaking to patients. They give the patient a form, and they should try to help if they can understand it. There was a woman there whose demeanor was very unpleasant. This isn't a state hospital, and we don't want to see people like that in a private hospital! That's why we pay so much money – to avoid stress and receive good service. Also, people like that shouldn't be anywhere. If they can't educate themselves, they shouldn't work. There are a few minor issues here and there, and that should be taken into account! I'm generally satisfied with the doctors. The doctors at Memorial Hospital first focus on relieving the patient's immediate discomfort and then treat them. It has always been that way. I also thank the responsible gentleman, whose name I've forgotten, who helped me with the knee brace. The cafe is also nice for sitting and waiting, and it's good for eating or drinking something when you get hungry, and the prices aren't bad. They should just have a gluten-free section. The best part is that you don't feel like you're in a hospital. May God protect us from needing hospitals and may He not deprive us of anything when we need it. Translated fromTurkish

I would strongly advise others to exercise caution when seeking care at this hospital.

My son presented with what appeared to be acute food poisoning. We were charged approximately $875 USD ($175 consultation fee and $700 for IV treatment).

What concerned me most was the discrepancy between what I personally observed and what was later documented in the medical report. During the consultation, the physician remained seated throughout the encounter and, to the best of my observation, did not perform many of the examination components described in the report. My son's temperature and pulse were not measured, and neither the physician nor the nurse performed what I would consider a comprehensive physical examination.

However, the medical record states that a detailed head-to-toe examination was performed. As a physician myself, I found this discrepancy concerning.

I am sharing this experience so that others can make informed decisions. I would encourage the hospital to review the documentation and ensure that medical records accurately reflect the care that was actually provided.

It's unacceptable that the nurses in the maternity ward constantly gossip amongst themselves, talk behind patients' or colleagues' backs, call each other "buddy," speak loudly, and drag themselves to the hospital in emergencies. Because I wasn't satisfied with the initial examination, I went to another doctor, and it turned out the situation was very different. Furthermore, they charge five times more for tests than elsewhere. The hospital's parking lot is very narrow and inadequate; finding a parking space is difficult. I wouldn't choose this place again. We gave birth at this hospital on June 12, 2026, and were discharged on June 14, 2026. They said my son had jaundice, and on June 16, 2026, they called us back for a check-up. They said he needed to be hospitalized and undergo fetotherapies. They charged us 18,000 Turkish Lira. We went to a room, but they didn't have the equipment. We waited in the room for two hours. They said they would get equipment from another hospital, but we refused. That evening, we contacted another hospital and left. At 10 PM, his values exceeded 18, and they admitted him to the intensive care unit. They charged me 18,000 TL, but they still haven't refunded it. My son is in the hospital; should I be dealing with him or with these people? Memorial Şişli is definitely a source of regret; I would never recommend it. They are completely uncaring and are causing me financial and emotional distress. They charged me for a procedure that didn't happen. I will now be contacting the necessary authorities. I underwent surgery at Şişli Memorial Hospital, requiring an overnight stay with a companion, through a visiting physician. First of all, I would like to thank my doctor, Mr. Bülent Tekerekoğlu, and all the nurses who came to our room to greet us during the shift change, the operating room team, the staff who accompanied me to the operating room, and all the team members I encountered, including the cafeteria staff. The mini art exhibition at your hospital, featuring works by Deniz Sağdıç, was wonderful. The cleanliness, the patient and companion menus and their quality, the comfort of the companion bed – we felt like we were receiving five-star hotel service. I wish all hospitals offered such excellent service, and I wish our patients could afford to receive this kind of service. I wish you healthy days. Translated fromTurkish

Terrible experience. I had a chin implant in June 2026, and it was complicated by a persistent open wound. Within just one week, they had to reopen and work on the incision three separate times, yet the wound still failed to close properly. My experience with Dr. Melikgazi was extremely disappointing. Patient care was not the priority, and the focus was more on money—both from the doctor and the hospital. I would not recommend undergoing surgery with him. Translated fromEnglish

I'm a patient at Memorial Şişli with a long history of cancer. I was treated for breast cancer (during that time, my oncologists were Prof. Dr. Abdullah İyici, Pınar Saip, and Serkan Keskin).
Five years later, I experienced sudden bleeding and cervical cancer!
I never missed a single check-up with Professor Serkan. It had been nine years, and he told me to come once a year. Great!
But then, two months ago, I had a tiny 0.8 mm mass in my lung. He referred me to Professor Çağatay from thoracic surgery. He's the same age as my son, but he's so motivating. And Professor Tuğba, she's like an Amazon for me. Anyway, the mass was small, part of the lower right lobe was removed, the frozen section was malignant but not metastatic, it was a new type of mass. The pathology report was so tight that it took a week to arrive. He wrote to me that evening and called me to the hospital early the next morning. Squamous cell carcinoma! So, if the lower lobe is removed, the life expectancy changes significantly! The doctor is right, and it's been a week since yesterday, and I'll be having surgery again tomorrow morning.
Let's see what happens? I think this is a test.
I wish everyone good health 🙏🙏🙏 Translated fromTurkish

I want to express my gratitude first and foremost to my translators, Zhala and Zarina! From the moment I arrived, the girls kept my fear at bay. I was very afraid of the surgery, even afterward! But as soon as they contacted me, they were always in touch! They were always supportive and caring! They genuinely wanted to help in every way and treated me as if I were their only and most important patient! I was very worried and nervous and asked stupid questions, but instead of getting irritated, the girls showed patience and care! They made it so that I'm already deciding to have another surgery in six months. I only hope for the best and that they will continue to support me in the future! Dr. Kadriye is a special doctor who inspires confidence, and her primary concern is the well-being and health of her patients! I am convinced of this. What I am especially surprised about is that the girls stayed in touch with me on the weekends and were involved in my negative experience at this clinic! I'm very grateful to Zhala and Zarina. Dr. Kadriye has golden hands! But the medical staff were very angry and irritated when I asked to be taken to the restroom; she turned off the call button and said there was only one for the entire floor! Next time, I wouldn't want to spend my post-operative period at your clinic. I have negative associations with her. Translated fromRussian
