Memorial Health Group, founded in 1995, launched the project for its first hospital in 1996, aiming to establish a reference center not only in Turkey but also worldwide. Memorial Şişli Hospital began rising on the European side of Istanbul with the support of ECRI, the most renowned healthcare consultancy firm in the United States. This was not just a hospital complex but the future of Turkey in the field of medicine.
The construction of Memorial Şişli Hospital, whose name became synonymous with trust and leadership, was completed in approximately three years. Equipped with the most advanced technology of its time, which an international medical institution should possess, Memorial Şişli Hospital welcomed its first patient in February 2000.
Just two years after its opening, Memorial Şişli Hospital received the JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation Certificate, becoming the first in Turkey and the 21st in the world to be awarded this certificate, which represents the global standard for quality healthcare services.
Occupying a closed area of 53,000 m², Memorial Şişli Hospital has a 252-bed capacity. The hospital provides medical services with 13 operating rooms, 4 intensive care units (cardiovascular, general, coronary, and neonatal), and 3 laboratories. It also houses a Transplantation Center, IVF Center, Genetic Center, Stroke Center, Breast Health and Diseases Center, Oncology Center, and Vinci Robotic Surgery Center.
