Areas of Expertise
Levent Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic with a strong team of general surgeons. In Turkey, it is known for its specialists in bariatric surgeries (obesity treatment). Bariatric surgeries help to get rid of excess weight, which often threatens a person’s health. Bariatric surgeries include:
- Gastric banding;
- Gastric bypass;
- Sleeve gastrectomy.
Sleeve Gastrectomy
Sleeve gastrectomy is one of the methods of reducing the size of the stomach, which is based on the removal of 75-80% of the stomach by a longitudinal incision. Although the main effect is to reduce the volume of the stomach, the center that secretes the hormone “ghrelin”, known as the appetite hormone, is also removed, which enhances the effect. The operation is performed under general anesthesia by a laparoscopic (closed) method using 4 or 5 holes. The stomach is cut along the longitudinal axis using special cutting instruments – staplers, known as “staplers”, and the stomach is removed outside the abdomen. As with all obesity surgeries, the goal after surgery is to ensure a loss of 80% of excess weight within 9-12 months.
Gastric bypass
This is an operation that limits the volume of the stomach and regulates absorption. This method of surgery is much more commonly used worldwide, as it is considered older and more traditional compared to sleeve gastrectomy. In other words, the patient eats less and gets less benefit from what he eats. The hospital stay and rest period after the operation is the same as with the “Sleeve Gastrectomy” operation, but patients must receive long-term vitamin and mineral support after the operation. Also, at Levent Clinic, a non-surgical alternative to obesity treatment is widely used – “Intragastric Balloon”.
“Stomach Balloon”
Gastric balloon placement is a method in which a 600-700 cc balloon is placed inside the stomach to reduce its volume and facilitate patients’ adaptation to a diet. This method is especially preferred by patients who do not want surgery, whose body mass index is not suitable for surgery, and patients who want to lose weight. Gastric balloon placement is a non-surgical method, the balloon is inserted and removed endoscopically. The process is performed during sleep (sedation anesthesia) and patients do not feel anything during this process. The balloon remains in the stomach for approximately 8-9 months, and at the end of this process it is removed endoscopically (without surgery). Gastric balloon placement is a method with a higher failure rate compared to surgical methods. There is a risk that the lost weight may be regained, especially after the balloon is removed. Reviews
Dear Sir/Madam,
I took my 9-year-old daughter to Private Levent Hospital due to severe abdominal pain. My daughter suffers from FMF (Familial Mediterranean Fever) and Mediterranean Anemia and is a child who is regularly monitored. After reviewing previous reports and medical documents, the doctor on duty at the hospital told me, "This is not our patient, why did you bring her here? You need to take her to a state hospital. I can't do anything."
Despite stating that my daughter is a patient under observation and should be monitored by a pediatrician, he indicated that the dosage of her medication might be too low and needed to be increased. When I asked him to help with increasing the dosage, he said, "I can't increase it, show it to your own doctor, let him increase it," and did not provide any medical intervention.
The doctor also repeatedly said, "Why did you bring her here? You should have taken her to a state hospital." At that time, my daughter was writhing in severe abdominal pain, saying, "Mom, my stomach hurts so much, I can't bear it." Despite this, the doctor's indifferent and insensitive attitude negatively affected both me and my daughter psychologically.
During the examination, it was said that an IV would be administered, but later it was stated that the IV was only saline solution, and they said, "Let's not give her saline solution unnecessarily," and no treatment was given. Despite my daughter's severe pain, neither painkillers nor any other intervention to relieve her pain were administered.
Despite all this, the hospital demanded a 2,500 TL examination fee from me. I stated that I did not want to pay this fee, explaining that the doctor did not examine my daughter, did not administer any treatment, and did not care for her. Upon this, the receptionist said, "If you don't pay the fee, I won't give you your ID." I was subjected to pressure and threats using expressions such as these.
In conclusion;
My daughter was not examined properly.
Despite her severe pain, no treatment was applied.
The doctor used condescending and hurtful language.
Patient rights were not respected.
I was charged 2,500 TL even though no service was provided.
Hospital staff pressured me not to provide my identity information.
I am submitting the reports, medical documents, and the receipt for the examination fee I paid for my daughter's illness as attachments to my application. Furthermore, my daughter later received treatment at Sarıyer Çayırbaşı Hospital and was hospitalized in the infectious diseases ward. Documents related to this are also available.
Due to this injustice we have experienced, I respectfully request that the necessary investigation and audit be conducted regarding Private Levent Hospital and the doctor in question, that it be evaluated in terms of patient rights, that the 2,500 TL fee be refunded to me, and that I be informed of the outcome.
Sincerely. Translated fromTurkish
I am deeply pleased with the care, attention, and professionalism shown to my son, Bilal Taha Ermiş, during the healthcare services I received at your hospital on May 17, 2026.
In particular, the cheerful demeanor, patience, and expertise shown by your specialist doctor, Ms. Günel Seyidzade, throughout the process were commendable. She is truly a doctor who loves her job, is confident, and has excellent experience.
Both the medical approach and the overall order and cleanliness of your hospital were wonderful. I would like to thank your entire team for their love and dedication during this process and wish you continued success.

Frankly, the hospital management is very, very lucky to have such a valuable, trustworthy, and passionate doctor on staff. I'm so glad our paths crossed; she's the only person I can entrust my child to with my eyes closed. Endless thanks!" Translated fromTurkish
They were all very sweet and helpful.
Everyone is very kind and loves their job.
Thank you to the whole team.
Thank you for your hard work. Translated fromTurkish
I wish there was a more responsive organization and someone who could have helped me with this situation… Translated fromTurkish
My first thank you goes to Ms. Elif, the secretary at the physical therapy center, who always gave me encouragement with her sincere smile and helped me with everything. My other thank you goes to Ms. Elif, the physiotherapist, whose knowledge, dedication, excellent communication, and reassuring approach made my treatment process very comfortable.
I practically left my back pain behind there; I left feeling much lighter.

However, because the necessary report for the medication was not prepared during the examination, I had to purchase Ferapplic serum from a pharmacy for 3,900 TL. Subsequently, the serum was administered in the hospital's emergency room. I would also like to specifically state that, with the exception of the nurses in the emergency room, I found the general approach of the hospital staff to be extremely indifferent and lacking in concern for the patient. Some time after leaving the hospital, I learned from a message from the Social Security Institution (SGK) that the medication report was issued later, after the examination.
Upon this, when I called the hospital and asked why the report was not issued during the examination, I was told that I did not have the blood tests done at their hospital and that the doctor would write the report if he wanted to. However, the fact that the doctor issued the report later clearly shows that there was actually no reason to prevent the report from being issued. This situation gives the impression that the hospital prioritizes commercial concerns over the patient's benefit, and that the report was delayed because the tests were not performed in-house.
Due to the failure to issue the report on time, despite my specific request, I had to pay for the medication and suffered a financial loss of 3,900 TL. Furthermore, I was not given clear and concise information throughout the process. I spoke with an authorized person named Ali Bey at the hospital regarding this matter, but received no response.
This non-patient-focused approach, which I believe indicates a hospital driven by commercial concerns, is unacceptable... Translated fromTurkish
