ACIBADEM International Clinic Network began its history in the healthcare sector as a small district clinic in Istanbul, Turkey. Kidney transplantation is a surgical procedure for patients suffering from kidney failure. Healthy kidneys perform multiple vital functions, including filtering waste products and toxins, secreting erythropoietin (which stimulates red blood cell production), and releasing renin (which helps regulate blood pressure). We experienced one of the worst healthcare services we've ever received at this hospital. Our experience with Prof. Dr. Koray Özduman in the Neurosurgery department two weeks ago was extremely disappointing, both for the patient and their family.

First of all, despite our appointment at 15:25, we were only able to be examined at 17:30 because the doctor was attending to other patients, performing procedures, and a person who was later identified as hospital staff was also given priority. We were kept waiting for approximately two hours. Moreover, this person had undergone serious surgery, was in a wheelchair, and should normally be resting at home. Despite explaining the situation repeatedly, the only answer we received was, "We are a busy department." It didn't occur to them to be a "busy department" when they scheduled appointments at that time.

The examination itself was another disappointment. Although we went for a check-up after my mother's serious surgery, when we asked, "How is my patient doing, how did the surgery go, what are your thoughts for the future?", Prof. Dr. Koray Özduman's response, "She's alive, that's all," was extremely disrespectful and flippant. We waited for two hours and were only able to ask our questions in a hurry for 15 minutes. He didn't even glance at our patient. He examined my mother, who said "good day" as she left, with such a complete lack of awareness of the patient's condition that he simply said "she's chirping, that's all."

After the approximately 15-minute examination, we were kept waiting for over half an hour for payment processing. To make matters worse, despite having called the hospital beforehand, providing the doctor's name and surname to get a price quote, and being told the price was approximately 9,000 TL, we were told it was 11,000 TL during payment. When we pointed this out, they claimed that incorrect prices can occur. It's their institution, their department, they're the ones who give the appointments, but somehow the price changes after the examination. On top of all that, we were forced to pay a huge amount of parking fees to the hospital, which wasted over three hours of our time.

In conclusion; We had an extremely poor experience in terms of time management, patient communication, guidance, price transparency, and doctor-patient relationship. People should not have to deal with this kind of indifference, disrespect, and disorganization while struggling with health problems.

I absolutely do not recommend this hospital or the doctor involved. I will share this grievance on all necessary platforms.

My previous comment was removed, so I'm reposting it. On June 13, 2026, I went to Acıbadem Cardiovascular Hospital in Altunzade, Üsküdar. I paid 11,500 TL for an examination. They referred me to radiology, saying four or five tests would be done. The doctor said they would be done. Then I went back, and the doctor there spent half an hour examining my feet with the same machine. How expensive can this be? They supposedly gave a discount, reducing it from 36,000 TL to 30,000 TL. In total, including the examination, I paid 41,500 TL. My salary is 83,700 TL, you can imagine. I didn't have surgery, so it shouldn't be this expensive. I wrote to CİMER (the Turkish Presidential Complaint Center). I'm a soldier, a member of the military. Will people like us never be able to access these hospitals? Half my salary is gone.
