Patients are interested in when they will be able to breathe after surgery, how long the swelling lasts, and when the nose will take its final shape.
Now, during rhinoplasty in Turkey, doctors use silicone splints. These are hollow tubes through which air circulates freely. They bend, but at the same time hold their shape. This means they resist mechanical damage. These devices help to significantly improve the quality of the rehabilitation process after rhinoplasty. But sometimes temporary breathing problems exist, but for individual reasons.
After the operation, the surgeon puts thin pads on you – splints. They do not interfere with breathing and look aesthetically pleasing.
The first few days after rhinoplasty, bed rest is recommended. Depending on the individual reaction of the body, there may be weakness, mild nausea, which is best tolerated in the clinic, and then in a comfortable hotel.
After the operation, you will stay in Istanbul for 7 days. The driver will take you to dressings and doctor’s appointments. On the last day, the splint will be removed, and you can safely fly home.
Swelling after rhinoplasty surgery will be present, but it will not be very noticeable. There are usually no bruises. However, rehabilitation after rhinoplasty is not complete at this point. As the swelling goes away, the shape of the nose will also change. You will see the final result a year after the operation. Although in the 3-4th month the result will be 70-80% of the final one.
