My paths crossed with Professor Fatih on November 10th. My brother, Professor Gökhan Temiz, who works at the same hospital, facilitated our meeting. On November 8th, I learned I had early-stage breast cancer. I was under stress until November 10th. Professor Fatih reassured me and explained the procedures, telling me to relax. I was scared, but he calmed me down. I entrusted myself to him and waited for the surgery day. I didn't know if my breast would be completely removed. He explained that it wasn't necessary and that breast-conserving surgery was the most appropriate procedure. On November 21st, I went down to the operating room without fear. The atmosphere in the operating room was wonderful. The entire team welcomed me very well. I really liked the forest view on the wall. When I asked if they listened to music there, Professor Fatih asked what I wanted to listen to. Under the influence of the sedative, I said I wanted to listen to "Hemşin horon" (a traditional Turkish dance). They were surprised, but they played Hemşin horon for me. I also asked to be notified when they administered the anesthesia, and they agreed. They started the surgery, which completely relaxed me. After the surgery, I had absolutely no pain, only very little. There was some pain, but it wasn't unbearable. I owe this comfortable and successful surgery to Professor Fatih and his team.
