In early September, I experienced numbness in my left arm and especially my left hand. I also had an excruciating pain in my left thumb; I couldn't even open a bottle cap. Initially, I suspected carpal tunnel syndrome and consulted the Orthopedics department. After several tests and an MRI, the results were not very positive, and they referred me to Professor Dr. Ahmet Öğrenci.

From the very beginning, Professor Öğrenci was extremely attentive. He explained that my condition involved slippage in the C4-C5 discs, nerve compression, and cervical spinal cord contusion and edema, emphasizing the importance of immediate surgery. Due to negative feedback I had received from others regarding neck hernia surgeries, I waited for a while. However, thanks to Professor Öğrenci's reassuring advice, I decided to have the surgery.

To find out the cause of the back pain that wouldn't let me take a step, I went to a physical therapy professor. He ordered an MRI, and after reviewing the results, he said I didn't need surgery and prescribed the most expensive steel brace and 30 sessions of physical therapy.
