The clinic provides advanced methods for diagnosing and treating diseases of the brain and spinal cord. This includes the treatment of such complex pathologies as brain swelling, strokes, degenerative diseases (for example, Alzheimer’s disease), as well as Parkinson’s disease. NP Istanbul introduces modern techniques, such as deep brain stimulation (DBS), which helps patients with Parkinson’s disease cope with motor impairment, reducing symptoms of tremors and rigidity.
A comprehensive approach to treatment includes drug therapy, neurosurgical treatment and rehabilitation programs.
Psychiatry
The clinic has comprehensive programs for the treatment of mental disorders, such as depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Patients are provided with an individual approach, which includes medication and psychotherapeutic support. For important illnesses, advanced methods are being used, including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and neuromodulation, which can help achieve significant results in treating chronic and persistent forms of mental illness.
Psychotherapy and rehabilitation
NP Istanbul offers both individual and group programs of psychotherapy and psychological rehabilitation. These programs are aimed at updating the psychological health of patients, enhancing their emotional state and developing resistance to stress. Particular attention is paid to the rehabilitation of patients with psychoneurological disorders, as well as those who have suffered a stroke or other neurological illnesses.
Genetic research
NP Istanbul is one of the few clinics in Turecchyna that actively conducts genetic tests for diagnosing and assessing the risk of development of mental and neurological illnesses. Genetic studies can reveal vulnerability to illnesses such as Parkinson’s disease, depression and other mental disorders. These data help develop personalized treatment and prevention plans that promote the effectiveness of therapy and reduce the risk of complications.

If you're going to the emergency room, never go to Aydın Güler. When I went for my palpitations, I complained that I hadn't been able to sleep since last night due to the pain and palpitations and requested a medical report. Despite me saying I wasn't fit to go to work, he refused to issue a medical report and, on top of that, said I was unwell but still working. Instead of calming me down, he made me feel obsessed and made me panic even more with the things he said to me, so I had to go to another hospital. I request that the necessary action be taken. I don't recommend it. I had my child tested in Denver. They said they couldn't give you the results. They said they could give it to any institution or doctor who wanted it... Look at the disgrace. They can send me to institutions for things I, as his father, couldn't even see... I will never go there again. Look at the treatment we received after spending so much money!!!!! Never go there. Okay, we'll pay whatever it takes, but there are things we can't tell you from a deontological perspective. Even though we initially requested a two-minute meeting with a doctor, they forced us to the cashier. Then, a patient rights representative came and called the doctor's secretary, and even though we never said anything of the sort, she said, "The patient's relative will show a report." So, the doctor didn't want to see us. Okay, we know all private hospitals are businesses, but you're already treating us as customers, not patients. At least consider customer satisfaction, and that's not the case. I'm not happy with any of the staff, from the doctor to the counter staff, from the cashier to the patient rights department. They demand astronomical fees anyway. If you're willing to pay that kind of money, at least choose a hospital where you'll be treated like a human being and won't be disrespected. This hospital is a complete money trap. The treatment is a disgrace, the diagnosis is a disgrace, and on top of that, they deliberately delay the follow-up period and charge a fee. I wish I'd read these comments and gone. If you made a mistake and went, pay attention to the scheduled follow-up date and inquire about the cost. Dr. Alptekin: The treatment is terrible, the diagnosis is wrong, and the fee is doubled, including VAT. I'm adding our hospital's response as additional information. You're reporting a registered "cannot reach" in all the comments. How many patients does Dr. Alptekin have for an appointment on February 20th? Is your name Emre? I'm paying my prescription to prove the deception of a hospital like yours. Translated fromTurkish

Turkish and Summarized EnglishMy mother has had an illness that hasn't been fully diagnosed and therefore untreatable for years. Neurologists said it was psychiatric, but despite trying different medications from various psychiatrists, they couldn't find a solution. I wanted to see Nevzat Tarhan, but the first time I called them, they told me their appointments for a year were full. When I called them at the beginning of the following year, they told me they had appointments until June. I made an appointment with another professor at the same hospital. They told me that Nevzat was consulted on the phone when necessary for solutions. The Professor welcomed us very warmly and suggested two different treatments. The first one required my mother to stay in the hospital for about three weeks, I think. This treatment involved medication, and he mentioned electroshock therapy (I can't quite recall the exact procedure). The second one required us to go back and forth to the hospital for 20-21 days, receiving TMS treatment. The Professor had said that if my mother stayed in the hospital, the chances of recovery with the treatments and therapies she would receive were 90%. If we chose TMS, he suggested 80-85%. When we got the price for the treatments, they said it would be around 22 minimum wage for a double room, excluding extras, and 31 minimum wage for a single room, excluding extras. (They had already told us the prices—I've converted it to minimum wage here, roughly.) For TMU treatment, it was around 3 minimum wages. Of course, there's the professor's consultation fee and the mandatory brain EEG at the first appointment. After paying more than half the minimum wage, we met with the professor and negotiated a price. Ultimately, the professor gave me hope, and I said I'd go as long as my mother's problem was solved. We got the TMU treatment and used the medications he prescribed during and after the treatment. We went to our scheduled appointments, both free and paid, under the guise of follow-up appointments. However, although our problem had changed slightly, it still persisted. When we last went, our professor told me to learn to live like this, and our hopes were dashed again. Our professor, who had initially offered hope and promised a solution, had apparently become hopeless about my mother's condition. My mother has constant itching and shaking. After my own research, I compared it to advanced akathisia, but the doctors I saw said it wasn't akathisia. They couldn't find a solution. The attention and care were good, money first, then service. My mother's condition is the same as before I went there, so nothing has changed. We spent time and money trying a new opinion and a new hospital. Keep searching. May God help all patients. Don't make anyone worry and have to travel from hospital to hospital, hoping for a better outcome.-----My mother has had an undiagnosed illness for years. Neurologists said it's psychiatric, but no treatment worked. I tried to get an appointment with Prof. Nevzat Tarhan but couldn't for over a year, so we saw another professor at the same hospital. She was kind and explained two options: 3 weeks in hospital with meds and electroshock (90% recovery, about 22–31x minimum wage), or daily TMS for 3 weeks (80–85% recovery, about 3x minimum wage). TMS was much cheaper, so we chose that.We followed everything, but my mother's condition didn't improve much. In the last visit, the professor said, “You must learn to live like this.” That was very disappointing. First comes the money, then the care. We are still searching. May God help all patients. What a hospital. It's a business built for those with money. I wonder how much tax they pay for an examination. It costs between 4,500 TL and 10,000 TL for tests and such. At least a hundred thousand TL. It's hardly even close to what a retired person gets. There's nothing for those who have money and aren't doctors, and there's no service. I went here for an ADHD diagnosis. I already had a diagnosis from Germany but moved to Istanbul for a new job so I needed the diagnosis here. My experience was very positive. When I first arrived they had a translator assigned to me, and he was very polite and helpful. He guided me to the different rooms for the various tests they needed to do (ECG, blood test, psychiatrist etc), and he made the whole experience really easy. The psychiatrist was really great too. I was pleasantly surprised by how much time she spent with me discussing my symptoms and current medication etc. Her English was very good, and she took the time to thoroughly discuss my situation and figure out whether my current medication was enough or whether it could be improved. After our discussions she took everything we discussed into account and suggested an additional pill which has so far helped improve many of the side effects I was having from my other medications. It was an off label use of the new pill, where you really need to delve into the literature to find studies that show the benefits that I've experienced, which suggests she has exceptionally good knowledge. She also helped me find a nearby pharmacy that had the medication in stock so I was able to get it right after the appointment.Overall the experience was very positive. It cost around 900€ for all the tests, and most of these costs are one-off costs that won't be required for repeat prescriptions in the future. The psychiatrist appointment itself was around 230€ which I think is a fair price given how much time she spent with me.

It's called a "brain" hospital, but first, you need to have a conscience. They act like a commercial center, rather than an institution supposed to serve healthcare. They focus on patients' ability to pay rather than their needs. Transparency and empathy are almost nonexistent. If you're looking for a place that truly cares about your health, this isn't the place.Correction: Before you respond to your customers (or your PATIENTS), please check properly whether I've been examined or not. I was examined by Professor Barış Metin in the Neurology Department. Furthermore, the problem here isn't Professor Barış, but your mentality. Lastly, about two months ago, I brought my very close friend to me. Your doctor, who occasionally comes from Erdem Hospital, negotiated with us for money. Until you respond to people, change your staff and your ridiculous mindset. We will prove anything you want, wherever you want. We will even sue if necessary. Translated fromTurkish

My rating at the hospital, rather than the healthcare services I receive, is entirely based on the parking system. You come to a private hospital, and every procedure costs money. But while you're paying a fortune here, a valet greets you at the door and forces you to take your car. It's a private hospital, so valet service is certainly a given, but you can never force valet parking fees. I can park my car in the parking garage myself. I can't say enough about the money I pay for this hospital. Quality healthcare always costs money, but the parking policy is disgraceful. First of all, this isn't a hospital, it's a purely commercial enterprise. We're customers, not patients, in their eyes. Even a business has business ethics, and there's no room for that here! We made an appointment with a brain tumor and went. The professor we saw didn't explain how he'd perform such a risky surgery, nor did he answer any of our questions properly or provide sufficient information. He tried to exploit our situation with psychological pressure, saying things like, "We need to get surgery right away, even postponing until the morning is risky," etc. He said we could get information about the price from the accounting department, but they quoted an exorbitant fee, saying it was only for the surgery and there would be extras, leaving it open-ended. When we told them I had private health insurance, they said it was only covered through the Social Security Institution (SGK). Of course, because we weren't trustworthy, I did some research and had a very successful surgery at a university's training and research hospital in Ankara, where a very good professor offered me almost a tenth of the price. I live in Istanbul, so the surgeon... Afterwards I returned home, on the 20th day the stitches needed to be removed, this is a brain hospital, we called to at least have the stitches removed here, but this time they told me even more disgracefully that since I wasn’t there for the surgery, they wouldn’t remove the stitches and I should go to the surgery center. Since this is illegal, I complained to the Ministry of Health, and the answer I got was even more disgraceful :) They said that since such hospitals employ doctors without diplomas, fake doctors, and there are risks such as Covid and infection, the hospital can refer you to your doctor!! So these risks do not pose a risk to the current patients of NP Brain Hospital. As a patient, stay away from this establishment if you can! By the way: I made an appointment with a professor in the neurosurgery department at a more well-known private hospital to have my stitches removed. Also, I didn’t have to pay an extra fee. So, it turns out that the doctor who performed the surgery is not obligated to remove them. Again, you should stay away from this place. Translated fromTurkish

I wonder how such a "hospital" with such a miserable ward for so-called mentally ill people can still exist. A horror movie is romantic compared to that. I STRONGLY advise against this institution. Therapy can be found everywhere, but certainly not on this ward.
In my opinion and experience, inhumane and degrading practices are used in the ward for the mentally ill. Psychological abuse by nurses and security guards is commonplace.
You are knocked out with medication, sedated with injections, and robbed of your human dignity. Relatives and loved ones who act in good faith are being ripped off and have their money taken from them. This is highly criminal!

If I weren't a psychiatrist, I wouldn't know you're inflating prices with irrelevant treatments. What's a citizen supposed to do? You're marketing treatments that don't appear in any guidebooks or books at exorbitant prices like 110,000 lira, and when the patient's family asks us but refuses, you add 50,000-60,000 lira to the bill. Meanwhile, regardless of this 60,000 lira, you called while the patient was in bed and demanded an additional 100,000 lira, without explaining why or for what purpose. But when we asked for a detailed bill and a detailed service report—in other words, you hit rock bottom—you offered a discounted price. What happened to the 50,000-60,000 lira you asked for? I'm not even mentioning the fact that the accounting department said our overnight stay was 10,000, but the itemized bill only listed it at 5,000 or so.Could you please explain the medical indication for a routine EEG on a conscious, psychotic patient? This isn't the patient's first psychotic episode, by the way. He also has no history of epilepsy or seizures. Professor Nevzat Tarhan, I await your response. Why do you resist giving a summary report when you request one? Then you make them wait and barely give it to them? Are you adding or removing anything from the file? Doctors and psychologists usually write their notes immediately; they can't afford to wait three weeks. Does every citizen need to have a contact at the District Health Directorate to get the summary report they deserve? You exploit people's ignorance of their rights and their hesitation and shame in speaking up about their relatives with psychiatric diagnoses. You bill them exorbitantly based on your whims. And when you encounter a patient who understands their rights, you then offer them a foundation discount. 🙃 That's how charitable you are.Such immorality and disgrace are unacceptable. I will not refer any of my patients here. In fact, I will make sure they don't go there. Translated fromTurkish

I didn't know the hospital. We went there for a doctor. Wherever dietitian Hülya Yiğit is, we go there. I blindly entrusted my two daughters to her; she's a very successful, caring, and motivating doctor. I wish everyone could do their jobs like that... I didn't have any problems with the hospital either. Translated fromTurkish

I'm wondering how to approach the introduction. Everyone's most curious question is probably how closely the comments reflect reality. I'll try to briefly summarize the service I received three weeks ago, from beginning to end. I believe you'll have a much better understanding of the truth and be able to make a more informed decision. Selda, who helped me schedule my appointment, was extremely tolerant and empathetic. However, the comments I read afterwards so alarmed me that, if it weren't for the kindness of Dr. Nevzat Tarhan, I almost decided to give up on going to the hospital. However, I went to my appointment on time and day for a one-on-one consultation. The valet greeted me respectfully at the entrance, took my car, and parked it in the appropriate spot. Filled with prejudice, I thought, "Of course he'll be respectful, let's see how much he charges me." At the hospital entrance, we were searched and subjected to a body scan. I thought to myself, "How wonderful that this inspection is so thorough. After all, this is a hospital that also houses psychotic patients. If the inspections were relaxed even a little, what disastrous consequences would there be?" A female staff member immediately escorted us to the appointment and registration area, which felt like a relief. From there, we were taken to the Dr. Elshad Brain Clinic, where we made an appointment on the relevant floor. We paid before the examination. I personally inquired about whether payment was made by card or cash. The prices weren't exorbitant, and a small discount was offered. After all, this is a private healthcare center, and I don't think quality comes cheap. I looked around; there were empty tables almost everywhere, and although we worked until late in the evening, we weren't left standing at all. I went with my young son and my wife. My son enjoyed playing in the playground, and the girls on that floor were very attentive and smiling. We had our examination, and we were very pleased with Dr. Elsah. He ordered a series of tests (EEG, MRI, and many other psychoanalysis tests whose names I don't know). The tests were certainly not cheap, but I'll be honest, I've never encountered such a detailed and professional approach at any healthcare center in my country. An MRI is reported after six months, and an EEG is evaluated after a few months. All tests were carefully evaluated and reported by qualified specialists on the same day. The woman who performed the EEG was very polite and friendly, and all the medical staff who performed the psychological tests were patient and meticulous. The EEG was short, and they took me to the hairdresser to wash my hair after applying the gel. I understood that the purpose of requesting so many tests was to ensure a diagnosis with minimal error. I might have thought, "Why all these tests and all this expense? Just give me my medication, and I'll go." However, this approach would have been both arrogant and unfair to so many respected doctors who do their job so well. Since we were working until evening, we also ordered from the cafeteria, and the prices were extremely reasonable. The hospital also had a restroom and ablution area, as well as a prayer room for both men and women. We performed our examinations, treatment, and prayers right there, without having to search elsewhere. After each prayer, we prayed for ourselves, the other patients, and everyone who made this wonderful service possible. As I was leaving the hospital that evening, the valet meticulously brought my car to me and surprised me by saying, "We don't charge parking fees for first-time visitors." Finally, I'd like to add that the comments were almost preventing us from receiving this wonderful service and achieving healing. I'd like to urge you to be more compassionate and considerate in your comments, excluding those commenting while experiencing mood disorders. Unfair comments can prevent many people in need of healing from receiving this highly ethical and valuable treatment. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone involved, especially Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. We're so glad you exist. May God bless you all. I wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone. Translated fromTurkish

GAMZE CEYLAN ÇALIK I went to the emergency room for a cold, a lady in civilian clothes came, someone who didn't even have a mask or gloves or a doctor's uniform, told me to open my mouth, tried to look at my mouth with the light of a phone, it was not in accordance with any hygiene or dress code, you can enter healthy and leave sick, I strongly do not recommend it. I have doubts that Gamze Ceylan Çalık is a lady doctor who examines patients without masks or gloves and with a Xiaomi phone light. Her behavior and attire are completely inappropriate. She either does not know or does not follow any hygiene rules. May God not let anyone fall into her hands. Translated fromTurkish

Hello, last year, in late February or early March, we made an appointment with Associate Professor Barış Metin for my son's Eyüp Hasbahçe appointment. We took him to a private hospital, as most of the procedures were done elsewhere. He said he couldn't find the right one if we emailed him. He said he would review the file and get back to us. Despite all this time, he still hasn't responded to our email. Personally, I'm not rich enough to go to a hospital with such high fees. We went because my child was very sick, otherwise, we're military employees. Our MP Halide İncekara was the one who recommended the hospital to us. I followed her lead, and I wish I hadn't gone. I wanted to know the cost of admission, but they don't provide any information on WhatsApp, not even an average price. There's no price list for even the most common issues. Make an appointment, pay for the examination, and then they'll give you the price. But the examination costs 4,000-8,000 TL. Do I have to pay now just to get information? It's ridiculous. It's another version of the baby gang. A structure created to prevent patients from getting better, even worse, and keep them dependent. With Nevzat Tarhan at the helm, our government unfortunately fails to see. Why aren't hospital epicrisis reports being uploaded to our office? Because that would reveal the truth. I wish we could gather here with patients and their families who share my views. I hope one day this structure will be dismantled. Translated fromTurkish

I had an appointment on December 25th, but the doctor gave me a prescription and told me I needed to go to another hospital to get it filled. This hospital is where the proverb "cheap meat is inedible" comes true, with ignorant doctors who don't prescribe the treatment they offer. The doctor who told me I should reduce or stop the medication and seek another treatment, now refuses to prescribe the medication I was supposed to use to reduce the dose, instead telling me I should go to another private or public hospital to get it filled. I can't believe such an ignorant and incompetent person works as a doctor here. I don't forgive a single penny of the money I paid. Translated fromTurkish

I was examined by a neurologist, Prof. Barış Metin. He was indifferent and dismissive. He didn't even conduct a detailed examination. He's a careless doctor. Now I'll see another neurologist. What a waste of time. Not 1, but 0 points. Translated fromTurkish

WE APPLIED TO YOUR INSTITUTION FOR THE NEUROLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF MY SON EMİRHAN DAYS. WE HAD OUR TREATMENT AND WERE GIVEN AN APPOINTMENT FOR 6 MONTHS LATER. IT WAS WITHIN OUR INSURANCE PERIOD. THE PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGY DOCTOR FROM THE HOSPITAL HAD LEFT THE INSTITUTION BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT DATE. THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO CALL ME BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE ABOUT TO MAKE A DEAL WITH A NEW DOCTOR AND I WOULD CALL AGAIN FOR AN APPOINTMENT. IT WAS NOTED. Later, when I called the hospital because they didn't return for a long time, they said he was a neurologist who takes care of children, but that he was only there in emergencies and when necessary. I asked why an appointment hadn't been made for my child, and they said they could make one if you want. I had my insurance for neurological examinations, and since the deadline has passed, I can no longer go. AFTER THE INSURANCE PERIOD EXPIRES, I CAN TAKE IT ANYWHERE I WANT. IF I COME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT MY INSURANCE PERIOD HAS ENDED WHILE WAITING FOR NEWS FROM YOU, I INTERPRET THIS AS FOLLOWS: YOUR DOCTOR WHO LEFT YOUR HOSPITAL WILL START WORKING AGAIN IN JUNE. YOU ARE TRYING TO MANAGE THE SITUATION UNTIL THAT TIME. THESE ARE SMALL MOVEMENTS FOR A HOSPITAL THAT CLAIMS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST BRAIN HOSPITALS IN EUROPE. YOU CONSULTED THE BOARD, YOU ARE SAYING, LET'S GIVE A DISCOUNT, ETC. I SAID BRAIN HOSPITAL, I TRUSTED IT, I BECAME A VICTIM. A CHILDREN'S NEUROLOGY DOCTOR IS NOT FOUND EVERYWHERE. I SAID MY CHILD WILL BE FOLLOWED UP THERE AT NPI CORPORATE ETC. Translated fromTurkish

Hello.
Patient name
(Kerem Çokal)
We arrived at our appointment on December 10, 2024, motivated to take advantage of the hospital's magnificent appearance and its years of experience.
They had a very pleasant sense of humor at the entrance when registering.
After registration, a friend escorts you to the relevant unit. This, of course, raises expectations.
Unfortunately, the outlook was positive until I encountered the disrespectful person named (neurology) Professor Barış Metin.
What followed was, in short, a disrespectful mention of whether a patient had been paid before being treated as a patient.
I want it to be known that this is unbecoming of such a large hospital. We also encountered good people at this hospital, (Psychiatrist Dr. Beyruz) and (patient rights manager Serkan Beyr)
I would like to thank them for their commitment to human values and their attentiveness. Translated fromTurkish

NP Hospital officials told me my daughter is seriously ill and I can't get her to take medication or see a doctor. She's been suffering for four years, and we're exhausted. Because our resources are limited, we haven't been able to get her admitted to your hospital. Please help us. My daughter is constantly having nervous breakdowns. I can't stand it anymore. We're ready to mobilize all our resources. You too can help us financially and morally. Let's save my daughter, please! I'm a single mother, and I'm supporting her to the best of my ability. This so called hospital is nothing but a scamming operation. If you value your health and money whatever you do, do not go here. There are hundreds of other clinics or hospitals in Turkey. They charged us 3000 EUR for some basic lab work and doctor consultation. And the result was nothing more than what we already knew before this visit.
