My mother underwent hemorrhoid surgery at Central Hospital Etiler yesterday, and I absolutely must share our experience. Honestly, even 5 stars wouldn't be enough. 🌟 The hospital was incredibly clean, organized, and reassuring from start to finish. But most importantly, the staff's care and warmth were unwavering. We were very anxious as my mother went into surgery, but the team was so kind and attentive that we immediately felt at ease. The surgery went very well, and they continued to care for her afterward. Especially the nurses – Sena, Nilay, Serra, Azra, Züleyha, and Hilal… Each one was incredibly sweet, patient, and cheerful. My friend underwent breast surgery for the second time, and since we've experienced the process before, we won't forget this experience and the treatment we received. While continuous ice application is necessary after surgery, the hospital didn't have any ice; in other words, the entire hospital couldn't provide ice. Even if the one on our floor was broken, couldn't there have been any other ice packs in the hospital? They didn't even tell us there weren't any; they just said "I'll wait 5 minutes, it's freezing," and made us wait pointlessly without offering a solution. We had to buy ice from a liquor store and ask for some from a cafe across the street. The nurses' irresponsibility was also appalling; when we said it was very swollen and had edema, they just normalized the situation. They didn't come to check on us unless we called them. My mother and two friends had eye surgery here, but the situation was terrible. They kept saying they didn't have any ice, even though ice needs to be applied at regular intervals after the surgery. In the end, we brought ice from outside. Logically, we expected them to freeze the others while we used it, but we suffered this from 11 PM to 8 AM. I've been to Central Hospital Etiler from February 16th to February 20th 2026. The whole experience was most positive, since my first contact to get to know about prices, types of surgeries, dates and everything. I've arrived at night, the shuttle took us - my husband and I - at the airport and went straight to the hospital. As we arrived, there was a nice receptionist, but her English was not best (with some effort in both sides, we could understand each other), that's a pattern we've noticed during my stay (most of the staff doesn't speak English, however the majority of people tried their best to make the communication happen).
I've been operated in February 17th (a gastric sleeve by Dr. Servet Tali) and two days after I was feeling very well, taking into consideration that part of my stomach was cut off hahahah.
I've made lots of pre operatory tests, talked to different doctors before the surgery and to the surgeon himself. During all these moments there was an interpreter present.
The most difficult part was during night hours, when there's no interpreter and you need to deal with people who don't speak English. So be ready to use the translator (it'll help you a lot!).
Anyway, I'd like to thank the whole team, that was such an adventure. There are amazing people (sorry, I'm bad with names 😔) on nurses team, the interpreter was such a nice guy and the medical consultor (who answered my midnight messages hahahaha) was a princess...
